What is SAP?

SAP stands for Satisfactory Academic Progress.

How do I maintain SAP?

To maintain SAP you must:

  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 on 4.0 scale
  • Complete your program within 150% of your program duration
  • For example, if your program is normally one year long, you need to complete it within 1.5 years

What happens if I don't meet SAP requirements?

If a student fails to meet GPA requirements for any evaluation period, there will be academic repercussions up to and including academic probation and/or dismissal.

What happens if I fail a course?

All failed or incomplete courses must be repeated and passed before moving on in the program. Students will be responsible for payment of repeated course. This can potentially affect your funding.

CIAT Faculty & Staff are available to support your academic success.  If you are struggling in your classes for any reason, be proactive and ask for help. You can submit a support request to Student Services at this link.
